AVSAR / One Airport One Product (OAOP) – Brief

One Airport One Product (OAOP) initiative aims to promote indigenous and region-specific products, strengthen local entrepreneurship and enhance the visibility and market reach of local products by showcasing them at airports across the country. The initiative is aligned with the One District One Product (ODOP) programme of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

2.       Under the OAOP initiative, airport operators are encouraged to identify and promote a signature product representative of their respective regions through appropriate marketing and promotional activities to enhance its visibility and market reach.

3.       The ODOP programme seeks to promote balanced regional development by identifying, branding and promoting products in which individual districts specialise. The ODOP list includes one or more products for each district, categorized as primary, secondary and tertiary products, wherever applicable. Accordingly, airports have been mapped to the respective ODOP products based on the districts in which they are located, to facilitate airport operators in identifying suitable products for promotion under the OAOP initiative. The district-wise list of identified ODOP products is available in the public domain at https://www.investindia.gov.in/one-district-one-product.

4.       AVSAR: AVSAR (Airport as Venue for Skilled Artisans of the Region) scheme aims to provide local artisans and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) with a platform at airports to showcase and market their indigenous products, thereby facilitating market access and supporting livelihood opportunities. While AVSAR provides a platform for artisans and SHGs to display and sell their products, OAOP focuses on identifying and promoting a signature product representative of the region through airport-based marketing and promotional activities.
